Oral History

Forthcoming Interview with Jen Moore in the Trettor Transgender Oral History Project at the University of Minnesota.

In Telling Trans Stories with Professor Myrl Beam, the final  was to conduct an oral history in pairs for the Trettor Transgender Oral History Project. My partner, Ko Horiuchi, is the interviewer while I recorded the interview. We prepared an interview guide and edited the transcription before it was sent to the Trettor Project.

Interview Description:

This is a screen-recorded virtual interview with Jen Moore, conducted as part of the TTOHP. Jen is a mental health counsellor, educator, and community worker currently based in Minnesota. In this interview, they emphasised the importance of community and the presence of trans*/queer elders for themselves and the people they work with. Despite being very much aware of the systemic harm on the trans/queer community and the mental health field writ large, Jen continues to hold hope for the future by intentionally connecting with the people who support them and together building a sense of liberation.

Forthcoming Interview with Vivian Tran in the Macalester Trans Queer Oral Histories.

I was interviewed by Oli Tierney about my experience with student activism as a queer person-of-color at Macalester College.
